Star Trek: Enterprise fans raised millions of dollars for a Season 5 of the show

https://www.gonnageek.com/show/on-the-bubble/

Despite raising millions of dollars, the fan-campaign for a 5th season of Star Trek: Enterprise, but was it successful?

Decreasing viewership, uneven story arcs, a change of Showrunner, and a lack of network support were among the many reasons that Enterprise was On The Bubble multiple times during its 4 season run. All that didn't stop fans from putting their hard-earned on the line to signal their devotion for Star Trek: Enterprise, and that they were more than willing to speak the language of the TV Suits, money.

**Correction** in this audio recording we mentioned that the first letter writing campaign to get Enterprise renewed happened prior to S2, but upon further investigation we have clarified that the show was first heavily On The Bubble at the end of S2, and the campaign was then launched to secure a S3.

S3E5 - Will We Ever See Another TV Fan-Campaign Like Veronica Mars Again?

Listen/Share/Contact: https://www.jcaldigital.org/otb

"The machinations of save-our-show fan campaigns are always changing, but the passion fans have for the shows they love most, that never dies".

Seven years after it was canceled, Veronica Mars returned to the screen in 2014 - the Big Screen. Funded to tune of $5.7M by fans via one of the most-backed Kickstarter campaigns ever up until that point in time.

• Is Kickstarter still a viable platform to resurrect genre TV shows?

• Was there something extra special about Veronica Mars and the connection the show had with fans, that made this a truly unique situation? Still, I don’t know.
