Ep. 2: Email replies that don't suck, podcasting on an iPad, and Sound Devices WAVE Agent Tool - ETM002

In today's journal entry, Josh talks about not looking stupid when sending email replies to potential guests, how the iPad isn't quite ready for podcast prime time, and how the free Sound Devices WAVE Agent saved his butt recently.

Josh used the WAVE Agent to re-stamp a mis-stamped .wav header that was originally stamped as 44.1kHz instead of 48kHz and was causing playback issues. The WAVE Agent tool is also ideal for dealing with polyphonic .wav files - like those outputted by Sound Devices products like the MixPre-6.

Intro Segment:
Sennheiser MD46 into Roland R-05, mixed in Adobe Audition using iZotope De-noise, iZotope Nectar Elements, and Waves CLA-2A plugins.

Acoustics Segment:
Rode Broadcaster microphone into a Sound Devices MixPre-6 (at 48khz 24bit). The only post production used on this segment (other than content edits to shorten some of the gaps) was Adaptive Levelling in the Auphonic Desktop App (no noise reduction or extra compression was used).
